Short films submitted for selection must meet the following criteria:
1. **Production Period:** Films must have been produced within the twelve months preceding the Cannes Film Festival.
2. **Limited Exploitation:** Films should not have been exploited outside their country of origin.
3. **International Presentation:** Films should not have been presented at another international film event. A selection is considered international if it includes films from different nationalities.
4. **Distribution and Release:** Films should not have been broadcast on the internet.
5. **Maximum Duration:** The duration of films should not exceed 15 minutes, including credits.
